DARWIN Home Wellness Intelligence by Delos
“Monitor’s Rest” is a wellness home, featuring Delos' DARWIN Home Wellness Intelligence Network. Delos created a building standard that focuses on how the building impacts the wellness of its occupants. The DARWIN system regulates circadian rhythm lighting, monitors and calibrates indoor air quality, filters pollutants and removes pathogens from the air including viruses, and improves water quality by removing impurities and contaminants.

*In addition to contact transmission from close person-to-person contact, it is now widely recognized that the virus causing Covid-19 may be spread via airborne transmission, in which small viral particles can travel further distances and remain suspended in the air longer. The virus causing Covid-19 (SARS-CoV-2) ranges in size from 0.06 to 0.14 microns -- which is significantly smaller than particles that are captured by conventional filters. High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filtration helps to reduce the levels of many particles, including particles carrying viruses suspended in the air. It is important to note that viruses are unlikely to travel in the air alone; they are typically attached to other particles. The particles that carry viruses are larger than the virus itself, which may make it easier for HEPA filters to capture them. HEPA filters can remove 99.97% or more of fine and ultra fine particles as small as 0.3 microns in diameter, thus significantly reducing the number of particles in the air that are 0.3 microns and larger, and which may be carrying bacteria and viruses. HEPA can also remove particles that are smaller than 0.3 microns, but the removal efficiency of these particles by individual HEPA filters is not included in standard HEPA testing. Guidelines from the CDC have indicated that HEPA filters have a high efficiency for removing ultra fine particles smaller than 0.1 microns through the diffusion process.
